The Profit Protection Future Forum
Welcomes You

Giving a voice to the Retail Profit Protection industry

The Profit Protection Future Forum Board of Directors consists of Loss Prevention leaders who donate their time and expertise towards Australia and New Zeland's only not-for-profit loss prevention forum with a shared goal of promoting collaboration and partnership in the Retail LP industry.

Here at the Profit Protection Future Forum, we're committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Since 2000, we've been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts in educating others about our shared industry.

The 2022 Australia and New Zealand Retail Crime Study is the second overview produced by the Profit Protection Future Forum into the ANZ retail crime landscape.

The first study (published in 2019) provided needed regionally relevant intelligence into hot products, popular offending methods, and sector-level estimates of loss types.

This second study not only continues this focus and considers changes during the intervening period. As everyone is aware, the last four years have witnessed considerable and unpredictable changes. COVID-19 disruptions, staff shortages, strained supply chains, and greater online transaction volumes have all shaped the opportunity surface for the commission of criminal activity, be it organised retail crime groups or impulsive amateurs.
